If your looking for consistency as far as taste, service, and great quality, this is your place. This place has been in Long Beach for over 40yrs and I first came here 35yrs ago. I remember the first time my mom brought me here and we sat at the counter. The waitress asked what I wanted and it being breakfast time, it had to be PANCAKES!
I’m not one of the fancy pancake type of guy. I like them with butter and a little syrup. No chocolate chips, blueberries, or any kind of fruit. The only thing I like with my cakes might be a side of eggs and sausage. After the first bite I was hooked for life. They were light, fluffy, and delicious. No need for toppings to make it more of a dessert than breakfast.
I’m a pancake fool and these are the best. Even the whole wheat cakes are good too. I rarely order anything else here, but I have had some omelets. The avo/bac/cheese was very good.
We have even had dinner there too. I can say this place is consistently good whenever we come here to eat. We have been here just for dessert. They do all their own baking of pies, cakes, pastries, and assorted goodies.
Now it’s 35 years later and nothing has changed but the paint. Still the same great taste and service. Service is above average probably cause they let you eat. They make their rounds refilling drinks, but they let you enjoy your meal. Seems every time I have my face stuffed at some places they come by and ask you something.
You have to check out their baked goods too. Muffins, pies, cakes, and other assorted goodies are worth the to-go bag.
We know to go early. We got their about 7:30am and by 8am it started to get packed. The price runs about $10+pp on the average, but well worth it.
